After many months of lurking in the shadows I'm back!
I had to step back for a while and regroup. Aside from exhaustion finally catching up to me - it seems you can only burn the candle at both ends for so many years before it all comes back to haunt you - so many aspects of the world of books changed I had to decide which path I was going to take.
Several smaller books sites gave into the giants and stopped selling books, or closed all together ... a lot of small publishers did as well. This resulted in fewer sales and competing with all the top dogs in the industry.
Contracts on some of my books expired, leaving me to decide if I was resigning or reworking the stories I loved so much. I chose both for those ... I've kept some with publishers I enjoy working with and I got to climb back into some of the first books I'd written and go over them with an eye that has learned a lot 20 books later. Which has put me back to where I was a few years ago with a long list of writing/editing/releases/promotion. Let's see how it goes this time ...
I think every author deals with piracy at some point but recently I've had a round of it with a new twist. It seems one of my publishers sold to a new company during my hiatus - so imagine my surprise when I return and find out my books are being sold without contract by another company. It has been a very frustrating (to put it politely) time to get that dealt with ... twice ...
If you see books with these covers being sold - please let me know - every time I think I've found them all and get them taken down more turn up....
In the last week I have been busy giving my website a complete makeover and I'm thrilled with the new banners and look!! http://www.jacquelinepaige.com/ There are still a few changes to do here and there, but overall the "new look" is out there now :)
At the end of September the new reworked version of Salvation was released. I've gone back in and added scenes ... which I won't spoil but talking about.
