Lots going on!

No, I am not missing!
I have been a busy me.

As always I have probably too many things going on at the same time, but life
is no fun without a splash of chaos tossed in everyone once and a while.

Everything is all finished up for Behind the Mask. I will have a trailer
and some more excerpts to post soon.

A few other things that I've been up to lately is-

I've just finished In Our Dreams, a Christmas tale, with of course a
paranormal flare to it.

For a few months now I've been debating on adding to the shifter
trend and have decided I am definitely adding to the shifter trend.
I will begin working on a new trilogy shortly. Animal Heart, Animal
Scent and Animal Passion.

And the list goes on ... and on. Check out my W.I.P page on my site
and you'll see what I mean.

Here's another short excerpt from Behind the Mask

He wasn’t a detective for crying out loud! He studied the map again and looked up out the windshield. It had been three days, or partial ones, and nothing so far. The spell words he’d sent out in the air had led him in the same direction time and time again, but then, it would just fade, leaving him on the side of the road.

He cursed and tossed the map into the passenger’s seat. He needed food, coffee, and some sleep. He reached over and searched through the pile of newspapers on the seat, all from small rural towns he had been through, all not pointing him in any direction that would yield information. He sighed and looked out the window.

Across the street was an old graveyard, not one of those with new polished headstones and pretty flower holders. This one had old gothic tombstones and a sense of history, and he was sure that if he’d gotten out and checked, magic.

He glanced slowly from the graveyard back to the pile of papers. Obituaries had been the one place he hadn’t thought of looking. It was a long shot, but he was out of ideas otherwise. Picking up the first one, he quickly flipped to the back. No deaths recently in this community.

He checked the four papers, and only one had any notices listed.

Release date!

Behind the Mask

To be released on October 16th at Amira Press

Start getting warmed up for Halloween!!

Gracelyn is barely out of her teens when her only sister, in a fit of temper, curses her so she’s forgotten the moment anyone turns away from her.

Only one thing an exact moment can break the curse – but after years of failed attempts she is forced to accept living her life completely alone.

Her world is calm and predictable until one Halloween night …

One costume party …

And one masquerading man changes everything.

The last costume party she’d been at she had been a pretty ballerina, she had matured a lot since that time. Running a hand down the snug low cut black material she wore, she laughed in her head. She had matured with the reality of life.

She looked around again and almost groaned out loud as a pirate was headed her way now. He was giving her a leering ‘come get me’ look. Not likely, she thought and turned enough in the other direction she hoped he’d get the message. It had been several years since she’d had the company of a man, but she wasn’t desperate enough to go there. She decided that sometimes not being seen was a good thing.

She searched through the crowd trying to find Evan. He’d most likely be in a tasteful costume, which left out most of the room. She spotted a sheik that had the right height and then bit her lip when the sheik turned and was most definitely a woman.

She stopped looking around and watched as a lion headed in her direction, a lion that was pure man. Chastising herself the whole time she let her eyes travel down over the golden pants he wore, definitely a man. Not wanting to get caught ogling, she quickly looked back to his masked face. The smile beneath the golden mask was pleasant and not at all unappealing.

She allowed her eyes to move from his golden mask down over him again. He wore a collar, how cute was that she thought. He was basically naked until she reached his waist. With good reason too she mused as she bit her lip, a nice toned chest and tummy like that warranted freedom from clothes. Her eyes took their time moving over the covered portions of him once more and she had to say from his fuzzy golden mane to his tail that swayed with each movement, it was a well presented outfit.

Arianna felt a tingle go through her. She closed her eyes for a brief moment and took a breath. Either there was someone here that held the secret of magic or ... she opened her eyes, or she had a raging case of hormones too long denied. Most likely the latter of the two, but the way the lions look was simmering through her whole system she wondered if she should make her exit. Leaving without speaking to Evan would be rude though.

Author Reads - Beltane Magic

While I'm working on some editing/writing I thought I'd post an
Author Reads for my own Beltane Magic.

by Jacqueline Paige
genre: paranormal romance/suspense
heat level: sensual

Author S.K. Yule's thoughts on this:

Beltane Magic, exactly; magical in every way. From the intriguing glimpse of spells, fire lit dances to throbbing drums, and the enchanting journey of two lost souls who thought happily-ever-after was not meant for them. I absolutely loved and thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the realistic world of magic Jacqueline Paige painted in this fascinating read.”

Author S. K. Yule

you can find this at Amira Press

and I don't need to say where you can find me.

I hope to have more Author Reads to post soon.

Moon Kissed

my thoughts:

Moon Kissed was rated as ‘hot’ which is an understatement, it should be scorching or searing at the very least! J.A. SAARE has done it again with another attention grabbing short and has been moved to the top of my list to watch for new releases by her.”

You can find this at Amira Press

And once again you can find J.A. Saare here

I'll have more Author Reads soon, right after I finish a few WIP's

My thoughts on this one:

You can find this at Amira Press

And you can find J.A. SAARE here

Author Reads - Awakening the Blood

I took a few days to stop working/writing early and read some of the books other
authors agreed to share with me.
I am so glad I did and now I'm thinking I might want to do A LOT more of this.

Awakening the Blood
by Tara S Nichols
genre: vampire erotic
heat level: hot

and here are my thoughts on this book:

“Such an original and creative story I read it entirely without moving once! Awakening the Blood grabs your attention and takes you on a fascinating, steamy ride. I would definitely like to see those characters sometime, somewhere again.”

You can find this at Amira Press

And you can find Tara here

I'll post another Author Reads tomorrow.

Author Reads

I was taking a few minutes time yesterday to actually read a book. I've missed sitting down and hiding in my invisible bubble and letting a story take me to a new place - this time though I didn't get any further than the first few pages of the book, not the story, just the first pages before the story.

On these pages were short reviews or comments from other authors and reviewers describing what they thought of the book I was about to read.

A great idea, having the opinion of another author on your story. I wanted this, and wondered how one would go about doing this.

After a bit of thought I decided the easiest way would be to contact other authors and run the idea by them. So I did, and those that have had time to reply are all for the idea as well.

In a few short hours I'm in an Author Reads exchange.

Great! So now I have several awesome sounding books to read through. It's like a winfall of creative stories and fabulous characters and I can't decide where to start!

Getting lost in a story ranks as high on my "needs" list as writing a story and seeing where the characters are going to take me. I need more hours in a day! Can't we invent a day extension or something where some of us live in a realm where our days are eight hours longer than the rest of the world?

I will most definitely be posting my thoughts of the books I read here as well as adding what other authors think of mine. I am much better at promoting others than I am at self-promoting.

If you're an author and want to jump in on this list, let me know.

And now I have to settle myself down and try to get some work done...
