Today I have the pleasure of having Jae Lynne Davies here
with her first release Mythic.
- Who is Jae Lynne Davies?
Jae Lynne Davies is a thirty-two year old wife to a wonderful and supportive husband, a mother to two young children, and author of Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy. During the day, I work in the ever-changing mortgage industry. At night, I bring a different world to life.
- I understand Mythic is your first release, how are you feeling now that it’s finally through the editing/publishing process and available to everyone?
Yes, Mythic is my first release. But once the process is complete, the work just begins. No one will know your story exists if you’re not willing to promote your material.
While I feel a great deal of accomplishment now that the novel is published, I constantly find myself hoping the world will enjoy the story I have to share.
- Did your characters give you any problems while you were writing?
Absolutely. In the beginning, my hero wouldn’t cooperate. Once I timed him out for a week, he learned to behave
- While working on a story, do you type directly onto the computer or are there notebooks and plot ideas jotted down in various places?
For my first novel, I didn’t begin with an outline. I had notes jotted down EVERYWHERE. If an idea came to me while at my day job, I’d email myself the information. Then, I wrote several things in a notebook. By the end of the novel, I was completely organized. Outlines are now crucial when it comes to my own writing.
- Where did your inspiration for Mythic come from?
I love vampires and knew if I was going to write anything, it was going to be about vampires in one way or another. I remember driving with my husband and creating the idea an elaborate world during the ride. Luckily, I had a notebook nearby.
- Do you have any other releases coming out soon?
Yes. I have a short story called, “The Contract” releasing on May 15th. The story is an Urban Fantasy featuring the Roman goddess, Diana and will be published in volume five of Tease Publishing’s ongoing anthology, “Love’s Immortal Pantheon”.
I’m also currently working on the sequel to Mythic, currently titled, “Blood Moon”. The story features Dante—a secondary character from Mythic, while remaining focused on Gianna Marino, the series heroine.
- What do you do when you’re not writing/editing or thinking about writing/editing?
If I’m not running around after my kids, or writing, I might be cooking a new recipe. I also love photography and I’m taking pictures whenever the mood strikes.
I can't wait to read more of your work! Thanks for being here today.
Here's more about Mythic and where you can find Jae
But during her infiltration of his coven, posing as a human with the desire to be turned, her game of seduction with Mattias creates a burning and mutual desire, when Nicholas Sutton—a dark and handsome stranger, intrudes on their play, threatening to expose her with an agenda of his own. One man is sexy and dangerous, the other is powerful and deadly. Both are vampires that want nothing more than to ravish her senseless, claiming her for themselves in a bond of body and blood, while she longs to kill one and bed—them both.
But when Gianna discovers a secret that blurs the lines between good and evil, forever changing the course of her existence, destiny will soon determine on which side she'll stand.
