Interview with Author Ami Blackwelder

Today I have the pleasure of having author Ami Blackwelder
stop by on her tour for The Shifters of 2040

1. Who is Ami Blackwelder?
A girl who when she could learn to write, began writing the imaginative stories from he head. She aloud by Elementary teacher and pursued English at UCF, having won Best Fiction in 1997 and subsequently Semi Finals of the Laurel Hemingway short story contest of 1997. A girl in a woman’s body. Girl- because like kids, her dreams have never died.

2. What genre(s) do you prefer to write? Why?
SciFi Romance, Paranormal Romance, Historical Romance. Without romance I get bored in a story and the subject areas I enjoy most have to do with our past or future or the in-between.

3. Do you ever have problems with writers block?  If so how do you get through it?
Not usually. I recommend writing in the morning, with a cup of tea. If your blocked, go read a book, see a movie, take a walk. Allowing yourself to experience other things will get your wheels-of-the-brain turning.

4.   The Shifters of 2040 is the third in your Shifter Evolution Saga.  How did this series come to be?
Born, The Hunted of 2060, in Thailand while watching my siamese Lotus jump rom tree limb to tree limb, the story originally had been written as a single book. Upon finishing I knew a sequel had to be written. Before I began the sequel, the characters spoke to me, back character stories wanted to be heard, written. So, I decided to write the prequels first.
The series is written so that the six books are broken into three pairs. 1/2, 3/4, 5/6. Reading the series as coupled books works best, no matter the chronological order you read them in. Begin with either Invasion, Shifters, or Hunted and its sequel and you will be fine.

5.    Can you give us a quick list of where we can find more of Shifter Evolution Books.
Online at Amazon, BnN, Kindle, Nook, iPad. Online you can order the book from a variety of places from Borders to Books a Million...Brick n Mortar stores:  USF BnN(shelf), Mojo Books (shelf), Book Shack (shelf), Used Books of Zephyrhills (shelf), Book swap (shelf)..

6. From your own writing, do you have a favourite story or character? Why?
Your British huh? (LOL) Living in Thailand for six years I had many British friends and my American began to sound British too...(LOL). My Fav story...I love The Day the Flowers Died and The Shifter Evolution saga.

7.  What do you do when you’re not writing/editing or thinking about writing/editing?
Promoting, advertising, teaching middle/elementary, helping my brother online with his business, and freelance reporting

Here's a bit more about Shifters of 2040:

Shifters of 2040 Book Description (Book 3 of the series):

America 2040.

Three Species. Divided Lovers. The Race is on for Planet Earth.

Set in Alaska in 2040, Melissa Marn and Bruce Wilder must work under the iron fist of the SCM, while still trying to maintain humanity. Discovering a world of shifters and hybrids, the scientists must struggle with human prejudice and betrayal. With the original ancestors, dubbed shifters, still living on earth, humans are in the midst of a fifteen year old war. As the eldest hybrids, Unseen and Diamond, learn about humans the hard way, with the loss of loved ones and sacrifices, love on planet earth proves challenging.

With underlining themes of how prejudice breaks human connections and animal/wildlife conservation, this novel which has received rave reviews will leave the reader flipping through the pages.
